Pocketful of Sunshine Greeting Card - SBTD Hop October 2017 | Stampin Up

Happy Friday!

I hope you have had a wonderful week! It's that time of the month again! It's blog hop time!!

This month, our theme was masculine cards. Now, I personally love a good challenge and this was absolutely one! I've made a decent amount of masculine cards in the past but they always happen on accident and not fully a planning thing. I really used my color pallet to bring out the theme and I really like how these turned out!

This first card is super simple but the interactive piece is what I wanted to shine and I think it really does!

I started by cutting out my little pocket and stamping it. This is actually really easy to put together once it's cut out. I used Tear and Tape and just cut it in half and it stuck down the pocket onto my front panel.

I then cut out my little dollar and I actually did 2! I used a couple of glue dots and adhered them to a gift card! I really liked this little touch. It looks like a couple of dollars coming out of the pocket and when the recipient pulls them out, there's a little gift attached!

I used some Designer Series Paper from the Coffee Break pack for a simple background and just layered Dapper Denim with some Whisper White.

So simple but I LOVED how it turned out!

For my second project, I kept it pretty simple again. I had just gotten in my new Stampin Blends (get excited, you can get yours soon too!!) and I really really wanted to play with them.

I LOVED using my Stampin Blends on this card. I was a little worried that the card was going to be really dark because of the glasses but it actually looks really nice in person.

I did really simple coloring considering the space to color is pretty small so I couldn't get too complicated with it.

One thing I really loved was how easy it was to use the Color Lifter. I colored outside the lines just a smidge on a few of the glasses and I just took the Color Lifter and boom it was gone!

Then all I did was take my colored piece, mounted it on my card base and just used a thin strip of Old Olive with my sentiment stamped on it to add the finishing touch.

Happy crafting!

Xoxo, Lyndsay
